Jude is written by: Simen Sandnes & Øystein Wangen This is the first time I have ever recorded and released something that was somewhat improvised. I'm a really, really bad improviser, and usually write out every single part I'm gonna play, and know exactly where every single fill is gonna be, and what every single part is gonna contain. I made this project to be able to have a place/band where I could evolve on improvising, as well as challenge myself as a composer. I have been extremely hesitant about releasing this song as I'm doubting myself a lot and have for a long period of time thought that this is not good enough, or presentable. BUT, we have to start somewhere, and sometimes just the act of doing is enough to push things in the right direction. I still have a lot of work to do on smoothing things out, having more air in my playing, and make more interesting music, but just by finishing this song/video and releasing it have inspired me a lot to put more time into the project and into this side of my playing. Something I tend to not focus much on. The song is going to be a part of an EP that I will be working on through out the next year, and hopefully release next summer. "It's not perfect but it's mine" Huge thanks to Øystein Wangen and Kristoffer Hanssen for adding so much of themselves into 'my' song. This would not have been what it is without you guys. Huge thanks to Karim Sinno for the amazing Mix and Master. Huge thanks to Hicham Hamzi for yet another amazing piece of artwork. Huge thanks to Tobias Aasgaarden for giving me all this amazing live footage. And HUGE thanks to Cultiva Ekspress for funding this single release, would not have been possible without you.

This is absolutely insane, but I am officially a Zildjian Company Cymbal Artist!

I am totally out of words, and can not describe my gratitude towards Erik Østby and the guys at EM Nordic AS for making this possible. Its totally nuts. I celebrated my first video with playing some double bass.

I'm gonna post a VLOG on Monday, going a little bit more in detail on my set up but here it is:

14” K Custom Special Dry HiHats
18” K Custom Special Dry Crash
21” K Custom Special Dry Ride
21" K Custom Special Trash Crash
18" Oriental China Trash
17" K Custom Special Dry Trash Crash
14" Oriental China Trash

I am loving my new set up and are waiting for one more China and Crash that will arrive soon!

I really have to thank all the guys over at Bosphorus as well for delivering cymbals to me for the last two years, and to my Norwegian rep Martin Hostad for believing in me so early in my career. Martin, I owe you so much. Thank you.

Can not wait to see what the future brings.
2019, BRING IT ON!

Ok guys!

This is kind of frightful for a "shy" southern Norwegian guy like me. Even though I have been making videos for a long time, doing something like this is on a whole other level of awkwardness.

I talk a little bit about what I did last week with some minor clips from the recordings of Anders Svendsrud Danielsen song and something for Liam McLaughlin (How was my pronunciation?)

And also I do a little UNBOXING on some awesome stuff I got from the fantastic guys at EM Nordic AS.  + a review of the Rhythm Tech "Active Snare System".

Also a little teaser for a Iron Maiden cover I have coming up with Andy Peterson

As the video states, I have changed the brand of sticks I use. I reached out to the guys over at EmNordic and asked if it was possible to try out some sticks and maybe even see the possibility to become an endorser. My contract with Collision Drumsticks have ended and I did not see myself continue working with them. I have nothing bad to say about the sticks at all. They were great, and everything I have said is something I stand for. To me it was more about the relationship and how I was treated as an artist.

One of the reasons I wanted to work with a company that EMNordic distributes is that I know that if I ever need anything they will always support me and my stuff, answer all of my questions quick and give me good help no matter what it is. They have provided me with Mapex and other small stuff from K&M that I've been using in my studio. So I have a really good relationship with the guys, they are awesome. I can't thank them enough for what they do for me.

All of the Zildjian stick I have tried so far, are holding up great. Have not broken a single stick yet! AND all of them are paired by hand. So the pitch of the stick is exactly the same on both sticks, something that is really important to me. I have not decided yet which model is going to be my main stick, but I'm guessing it will be 5B or 5A. I might try to order something that is just inbetween.

Thanks for reading.

Have a great week folks!
